11-Month-Old Fell Through a Hole in Floor and Drowned in Basement Sewage, as Mom Jailed for 1 Year

The mother of an 11-month old girl whofell through a hole in the floor of her homeand drowned in its sewage-flooded basement has been sentenced to jail.

On Monday, Dasiah Jordan was sentenced to one year in jail in the 2018 death of Ca’mya Davis, theDetroit Free Press, theDetroit NewsandWJBKreport.

Ca’mya went into the bedroom, fell through the hole and drowned in the sewage in the basement, the outlets report.

Prosecutors said that fixing the hole would have been easy.

“You will suffer for the rest of your life about this,” a judge told Jordan on Monday, WJBK reports. “But you shall hopefully learn from this and move on, and hopefully be the best mother [you] can be for the children.”
