2 Children, 1 Woman Found Dead in Louisiana Home, and Homicide Is Suspected

Louisiana authorities are investigating the deaths of two children and one women at a family home in an incident that sent another woman and child to the hospital.

On Wednesday morning, police received a call requesting medical assistance inside a Terrytown home, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Jason Rivarde said at a press conference.

Rivarde declined to comment on the causes of death, citing an ongoing investigation and pending autopsy.

While Rivarde did not release the victims’ identities, theTimes-Picayunespoke to the slain children’s grandfather, who said he and the kids hadcelebrated Mardi Gras togetherthe day before.

“I’m hurting,” Emmett Rhodes, 53, said, according to the newspaper.

It is unknown if the person responsible for the deaths is one of the victims. No arrests have been made, Rivarde said.

When asked if the incident was domestic in nature, or a possible murder-suicide, Rivarde replied, “It could be, we’re examining every possibility we can right now.”
