2-Year-Old Girl Dies After Being Struck by Parent’s Car in Pennsylvania Driveway: Police

A 2-year-old girl died after a parentstruck her with a caras they were leaving their Pennsylvania home on Thursday, police said.

According tothe Allegheny County Police Department, police were alerted just before 8 a.m. local time to the incident at the 100 block of Lynnwood Drive in Pine Hills.

“First responders found a 2-year-old girl with severe injuries at the end of a driveway,” police said in a statement. “The child was taken to the hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.”

The department said a preliminary investigation determined that “a parent was leaving the residence and struck the child with a vehicle.” The parent is cooperating with investigators.

Neither the identity of the 2-year-old or her parents has been released at this time.
