'A Quiet Place II' Delayed for Third Time, Horror Sequel to Open in September

A Quiet Place II, the sequel to the smash-hit 2018 movie starring husband-wife duo Krasinski andEmily Blunt, will now be delayed to September 17.

The movie was originally set to come out on March 20, 2020 and even had its premiere in New York City on March 8 before the COVID-19 crisis was labeled a pandemic, and movie theaters around the world shuttered as a result.

Krasinski, who returned to direct and write the sequel, announced the sequel would be delayed just days before its release date. The movie later moved to Sept. 4, 2020 and then again to April 23, 2021.

The move comes days after Sony also announced a series of new dates for some of its biggest movies.

Among them isCamila Cabello’s acting debut in the live-actionCinderella. The movie has been moved to July 16 from its February 5 date, likely due to production delays that kept the movie from filming for months.

The move also bumps Tom Holland’s video game adaptationUnchartedfrom July to February 11, 2022.

Also moving is Jared Leto’sMorbius, which was previously moved to October 8. But since the James Bond filmNo Time to Diehas since been announced for that date,Morbiusis now set to open on January 21, 2022.

The carousel of dates also movesGhostbusters: Afterlife, which picks up years after the original movies, to November 11 asPeter Rabbit 2: The Runawaytakes its previous date on June 11.
