'Alias' Reunion! Jennifer Garner Hosts Dinner for Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk After Oscars

Will and Sydney together again!

Cooper, 44, starred as Will Tippin, a journalist and friend of 46-year-old Garner‘s Sydney Bristow, in the spy show which aired from 2001 to 2006 on ABC.

The two have remained close since their time together on the series. Garner sweetly wished Cooper a happy birthday earlier this year, the day before he was up for several awards at the Golden Globes forA Star Is Born.

“I taught him everything he knows,” Garnerwrote with a laughing emoji.“Happy Birthday, Bradley. Go get em tomorrow. We are all so proud of you.”

Cooper admitted in a2013 interview withGQthat as excited as he was for the opportunity to star inAlias, he gradually grew frustrated as his role began to shrink over seasons.

“I would only work three days a week,” he explained at the time. “And then for the second season, I got even more sidelined. I was like, ‘Ugh.’ And then, the next thing you know,I was like, ‘I want to f—— kill myself.‘”

Against the advice of those closest to him, Cooper asked the show’s creator, J.J. Abrams, to write him out of the show.

“J.J. was like, ‘Okay,’” Cooper recalled. “He probably would’ve fired me, anyway.”

The actor is winding down from a busy awards season, where he was up for multiple Oscars for writing, directing and starring inA Star Is Born. The film won Best Original Song at the 91st Academy Awards.
