The winner of last year’srecord $2.04 billion Power ball lottery prizehas made his first big purchase: a mansion in the Hollywood Hills, according to several publications.
Edwin Castro, who wasidentified as the winner last month, dropped a whopping $25.5 million — or about 2.56% of his winnings — to purchase the home, theLos Angeles Timesreports.
The home wassold on March 1, according to Zillow.

Edwin Castro made his second big purchase since winning the record-breaking$2.04 billion Power ball lottery prizein November.
After dropping $25.5 million on amansion in the Hollywood Hillson March 1,Variety’sDirtreports that the California resident has invested in a second property not far from the gas station where he bought his life-changing lottery ticket in the city of Altadena.
His second home is a 4,300-square-foot, renovated midcentury-style residence, which was sold on March 9, according to Zillow, for $3.

The New York City Police Department is looking for the person who stole a $2 million tabernacle from the altar of a Brooklyn Catholic Church.
According to the diocese, because of the Tabernacle’s 130-year history, the ancient gem is “irreplaceable.” It also said that the angels around the Tabernacle were damaged, along with the Holy Eucharist inside the artifact that was “thrown all over the altar.”

A wig shop in Beverly Hills that provides custom-made wigs for women and children suffering from hair loss due to cancer and other illnesses was burglarized at 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.
Surveillance video showed at least three masked thieves breaking into the Wig Fairy — a shop on Cienega Boulevard — and stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise,ABC 7reported.KTLAreports the value of the merchandise was nearly $200,000.
